Institute of Mavens (IOM) 

The Institute of Mavens (IOM) will create and develop interest based international communities, online and offline, with the aim of enhancing sustainable human development.

The International Executive Club will support the launch and development of the IOM as a tangible demonstration of our belief that business has the power to enhance human development.  

These communities will be led by Mavens. A maven is a trusted expert in a particular field, who seeks to pass knowledge on to others, and has a disproportionate influence over other members of the network. 

In his book The Tipping Point (2000) Malcolm Gladwell suggests mavens may act most effectively when in collaboration with connectors - i.e., those people who have wide network of casual acquaintances by whom they are trusted, often a network that crosses many social boundaries and groups. Connectors can thus easily and widely distribute the advice or insights of a maven. 

Gladwell was talking of connectors as individuals, but IOM will be a connector organisation - encouraging collaboration between mavens within a number of international interest based networks. 

The interest based communities we create will promote the interests of all P.E.O.P.L.E:

• Prosperity
• Liberty
• Environment  

Members may be individuals or affiliated organisations. 

The organisation will be run as a social enterprise with funding from several sources including a percentage of all profit made by the Intexclub. 

Seed capital will also be provided by Intexclub, so this project will be established as soon as financially possible.
